Between President Donald Trump’s nasty comments about LeBron James and Don Lemon stand Michael Jordan, who was thrown into the mix as a jab towards James. The legendary player released a statement about Trump’s comments, lending his support to James.

“I support L.J.,” Jordan told BuzzFeed News through his spokesperson. “He’s doing an amazing job for his community.”

Trump tweeted, “I like Mike!” in an attempt to insert his thoughts on the ongoing conversations about Jordan and James’ athletic legacies. Other players like Steph Curry, Washington Wizards’ Bradley Beal and Utah Jazz’s Donovan Mitchell also spoke out about Trump’s comments about James.

The amazing work Jordan referred to in his statement is directed towards James’ I Promise school opened earlier this week.

Trump’s wife and First lady Melania Trump also distanced herself from No. 45’s comments. “It looks like LeBron James is working to do good things on behalf of our next generation and just as she always has, the First Lady encourages everyone to have an open dialogue about issues facing children today,” spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said.
