Michael J. Fox is alive and well.

The actor, 54, took to Twitter on Friday to shut down a false report that claimed his health and mental wellness was in decline.

Fox has publicly battled Parkinson’s Disease since 1998, and he told PEOPLE in 2006: “I’m so blessed with a great family, and I’ve had success in my career. I feel this is a really unique opportunity for me to help out and try to effect change.”

Most recently, Fox — who shares four children with his wife of 27 years, actress Tracy Pollan, 55 — celebrated the 30th anniversary of his big-screen breakout Back to the Future.
