The upcoming Broadway revival of Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People starring Jeremy Strong has landed two more heavy hitters: Michael Imperioli will costar opposite Strong, and Plan B, the production company of Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner & Jeremy Kleiner, has signed on as a producer.

The project marks the Broadway debuts for both Imperioli and Plan B. Complete casting will be announced at a later date.

More from Deadline

As previously announced, the strictly limited 16-week engagement begins previews at Broadway’s Circle in the Square Theatre on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, and will open Monday, March 18.

The new adaptation by Amy Herzog (a Tony nominee for last season’s A Doll’s House starring Jessica Chastain) will be directed by Tony Award winner Sam Gold (Fun Home).

Imperioli, currently starring in Hulu’s This Fool, was Emmy-nominated for his turn in Season 2 of Mike White’s acclaimed hit series The White Lotus, and is perhaps best known for his six-season portrayal of Christopher Moltisanti on HBO’s groundbreaking The Sopranos. Although Imperioli has appeared on New York stages Off Broadway, An Enemy of the People will be his first Broadway credit.

Also set to make its Broadway debut is Plan B, with the production company joining the lead producing team of Seaview and Patrick Catullo. Seaview’s long list of New York stage credits includes the current Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, the recent Just for Us, Parade, The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window and Mike Birbiglia’s The Old Man & the Pool, among others. Upcoming projects include Lempicka directed by Rachel Chavkin; The Queen of Versailles starring Kristin Chenoweth with music by Stephen Schwartz; and Illinois, with music and lyrics by Sufjan Stevens, book by Jackie Sibbles Drury and direction and choreography by Justin Peck.

In An Enemy of the People, Strong will star as the small-town doctor who raises the alarm about a catastrophe that risks the lives of everyone in town only to face neighbors who was to silence and destroy him.
