Michael Ian Black Targeted Over YouTube Shooting Tweet Calling NRA a ‘Terrorist Organization’
Michael Ian Black is taking heat from angry Twitter users after promising that he would move to immediately politicize the shooting at YouTube’s San Bruno campus Tuesday and calling the NRA a “terrorist organization.”
“Another shooting. I’m going to politicize the f–k out of it, and so should you,” tweeted the comedian to his more than two-million followers on Tuesday. “The NRA is a terrorist organization.
“No, I don’t know who the shooter is. It doesn’t matter if they are an NRA member,” Black clarified in a follow up as things went south. “Yes, I know how they got the gun: the NRA and its blood-soaked lackeys made it possible for that person to get it.”

On Tuesday, police identified Nasim Najafi Aghdam, a late-30s woman, as the shooting suspect. According to official reports, Aghdam walked into YouTube headquarters in California and wounded three with a handgun before turning the gun on herself. Many details remain unclear but Aghdam did leave a prolific social media trail, which included criticism of the company.

“At this time there is no evidence that the shooter knew the victims of this shooting or that individuals were specifically targeted,” read an official statement from the San Bruno Police Department, the New York Times reported.
Black’s tweet was met with angry comments as many took issue with the swiftness and militancy of his convictions.
The shooter was an Iranian woman, Nasim Aghdam, who was angry Youtube was filtering her videos and reducing her monetization. She was a vegan bodybuilder and animal rights activist.
