On Wednesday morning, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones probably wished one another a happy 15th anniversary in bed, over breakfast, or while en route to drop off their kids at school. But it doesn’t really count until it’s been said on social media.

The Welsh beauty, 46, was the first to post about their milestone, hopping on Instagram — her social site of choice — and sharing a beautiful black-and-white photo of them embracing with Michael kissing her on the head.

“Happy Anniversary dearest Michael! Loving our life together, here’s to the next 15!” she wrote with a heart emoji.

Michael, who is a Facebook guy, then logged on to post his own photo tribute. One picture was from their wedding — a $1.5 million event held at the Plaza Hotel in NYC, which one guest described as being like a “royal wedding.

A second, less polished one looked like a selfie they took before a night on the town. He was wearing a leather suit jacket and she was rocking red. (The second photo was so unpolished that the Oscar winning actor looked like he was nursing some facial wounds.)

"15 Years ago and today,” he captioned the pictures. “Happy Anniversary Catherine!”

The Douglases, who have two children, didn’t have a drama-free 15 years. The pair, who met at the Deauville Film Festival in northern France in 1998, have been challenged with his adult son’s incarceration, his cancer battle, and her bipolar II disorder treatment, all which led to the couple’s brief separation in 2013. But yesterday wasn’t about dwelling on the downs. It was about celebrating their love, which has helped their relationship endure despite a rough front fifteen.

Here’s hoping the next decade-plus is easier on them.
