Michael Che Isn’t Afraid to Make Fun of Donald Trump

Saturday Night Live Weekend Update host Michael Che sat down with Trevor Noah on The Daily Show and discussed the president-elect’s fixation on SNL and their comedic portrayal of him. Noah quizzed Che on whether or not he’s afraid to make fun of Trump. But Che isn’t scared of Donald Trump, saying, “I like Donald Trump. I think he’s a hilarious dude.”

Che felt that Trump didn’t really want to win — he just wanted to “beat the nerd.” The Weekend Update host also said that Trump doesn’t want to have dinner with Mitt Romney or “sit across from people that he doesn’t even know how to pronounce their country or name.” Che thinks that what was really appealing for Trump was touring, being on the campaign trail, and entertaining the masses, saying, “When he goes into Washington and the White House, he’s the dumbest guy in the room. When he goes to Bathwater, Pa., he’s a genius! They love him!”

The Daily Show With Trevor Noah airs weeknights at 11 p.m. on Comedy Central.
