Video Transcript

- Somebody would like to talk to you.

- John, if you're done in there, we need you to get back in the field.

ETHAN ALTER: You're moving on to Creed 3 next. Obviously, we've seen that Sly Stallone isn't coming back probably for the next movie. How do you feel about moving on without Rocky? Are you looking at-- What's that experience going to be like?

MICHAEL B. JORDAN: I feel like this is the Creed franchise. Obviously, it stems from the world of Rocky, and there's going to be so much of what the Rocky-isms, in the teachings, that are going to be-- it's going to forever stay with Adonis as he moves forward. So, as far as page space, or whether or not Rocky comes back to this one, this is the Creed franchise moving forward. We really want fans to be interested in Adonis, you know. And what that story has to say. Rocky, I'm sure will live on and do other things.

ETHAN ALTER: Are you looking forward to directing? Stepping behind the camera? What are you looking forward to for that?

MICHAEL B. JORDAN: I'm looking forward to everything. Acting for over 20 years, over time, your taste buds start to evolve and develop. And you want to tell stories yourself, have a little bit more of control and responsibility over stories that you tell. And Creed is the first character that I'm coming back to play actually three times. So I've been daydreaming about the opportunity and had a clear vision of where I want this character to go moving forward. I'm looking forward to sharing the story with everybody.

ETHAN ALTER: We know that Michael B. Jordan is going to be moving behind the camera for his next gig, for Creed 3. What sort of director do you think he'll be? How do you think he'll handle the transition?

JAMIE BELL: Pretty much how he handles everything else in his life, full on dedication, full on commitment, doing it on his own terms, and apparently successful. [LAUGHTER] Everything he does is successful. So listen, it's a huge step. I'm enamored by Michael. I'm inspired by Michael. So everything he's doing is something that I want to be doing as well. And I look up to him. I really admire the way he's gone about things. So I wish all the best of luck to him. And if he wants to call me, to be in it [INAUDIBLE].

JODIE TURNER-SMITH: Michael already wears many hats and is obviously so [INAUDIBLE] and unstoppable. And I look forward to seeing what he does as a director. So interested to see it, and because when you direct something, it's like, this I have to say, as a filmmaker. And I can't wait to see what it is that he has to say.

LAUREN LONDON: I think he's going to do great. I think he has a great-- I think it's really important when directors understand actors. So I think he'll get, because he's been on the other side of the camera, that being behind it will give him insight. And I think he'll do great.

ETHAN ALTER: So what are some of the qualities that make him such a great actor? As you've observed him, what are the things that make him stand out to you?

JAMIE BELL: Just dedication. You know, just committed. Just like embodying things, taking things further, just identifying where the potential issues are. Ironing them out. Pushing the material further. We have a scene in the movie, where he basically chokes me out for 2 minutes straight. He's choking me out for 2 minutes straight. It's no-holds barred. So like I know what he's like when he kind of embodies someone, when he finds the physicality of something, like he's fully committed to it. So I have no doubt that he will apply everything that he does with his acting and his characters. I'm sure he'll apply the same things to his directing as well. And I expect nothing less than total success for him.

JODIE TURNER-SMITH: I think that being able to listen and staying in the spirit of collaboration, I think those are definitely things to lean into to make one a good director. Yeah. Just stay open.

- They're going to play by my rules now. No remorse.
