Firefighters are working to put out a large fire at Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill’s $6.9 million mansion Wednesday, according to reports.

Local NBC 6 reported that Hill, 29, was at practice with the team when the fire broke out at his Southwest Ranches, Fla., home on Wednesday afternoon.

The local news station later aired live footage of Hill and his wife Keeta Vaccaro standing outside the home, holding hands and looking on as firefighters battled the flames. At another point after the flames appeared to be extinguished, the wide receiver could be seen holding an orange cat in his hands as he and Vaccaro looked on from the street out front.

“Tyreek Hill has left practice, everyone is out of the house and safe as there is a fire there at this time,” Palm Beach Post beat reporter Joe Schad tweeted.

After the team's practice, players and coaches reacted to the incident.

“I think the main thing is his family is safe, his loved ones are good and he’s good as well,” quarterback Tua Tagovailoa told reporters, according to video of the Dolphins press conference shared online by NFL reporter Adam Beasley. “I know it’s a little cliche to say, but those things like that, you know, part of the house, some of those things can be replaceable but I’m just glad a lot of his family members are safe.”

“We’re here for him,” Dolphins cornerback Kader Kohou added reporters gathered around his locker after practice, according to video shared by Sun Sentinel reporter David Furones.

Hill’s teammate said he didn’t realize the extent of the fire until a reporter had shown him a video of the house on his phone. “Damn,” Kohou said, reacting to the video, adding, “That is crazy. I didn’t know it was that bad.”

Hill bought the mansion for $6.9 million in 2022, according to Sports Illustrated. CBS News reported that heavy black and white smoke could be seen billowing out of the home as firefighters fought to control the blaze.

The station’s live helicopter footage showed that firefighters had cut a hole in the roof overtop of the main structure of the property, where an extended firefighter’s ladder led.

After the fire appeared to be put out, firefighters could be seen walking around the property and examining numerous balconies with charred French doors while Hill and Vaccaro remained out front.

The couple could be seen speaking with a uniformed officer next to a parked Davie Police Department vehicle as firefighters continued to survey the home.
