New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs to offer free admission to veterans on Nov. 10-12

Nov. 3—Veterans Day is honors military veterans of the United States armed forces

It is celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 11.

The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs is offering New Mexico residents who have served or serve in the military free admission to the department's 15 museums and historic sites on Friday, Nov. 10 through Sunday, Nov. 12.

According to the DCA, any New Mexico resident providing satisfactory proof of current or past armed service will be admitted free. The program also covers the resident's spouse and children.

Additionally, New Mexico Museum of Space History and New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum extend this program to cover all veterans, regardless of New Mexico residency. The New Mexico Museum of Space History also extends this program to National Guard personnel and first responders.

The list of museums and historic sites that will be offering free admission are as follows:

—New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo.

—New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science in Albuquerque.

—New Mexico Museum of Art in Santa Fe.

—New Mexico History Museum in Santa Fe.

—New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces.

—National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque.

—Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe.

—Museum of Indian Arts & Culture in Santa Fe.

—Los Luceros Historic Site in Alcalde.

—Lincoln Historic Site in Lincoln.

—Jemez Historic Site, just north of Jemez Springs.

—Bosque Redondo Memorial at Fort Sumner Historic Site in Fort Sumner.

—Fort Stanton in Capitan.

—Fort Selden in Radium Springs.

—Coronado Historic Site in Bernalillo.
