The metro Phoenix restaurants and bars that closed in September included a few award-winners

September closings consisted of restaurants that had served the Valley for less than a year to those with histories spanning more than three decades.

Most closed permanently with only one moving to a new location.

A downtown cocktail bar poured its last drink, a barbecue restaurant closed after just over a year in business and a brewery that had recently won a gold medal at the Great American Beer Awards closed after six years. A family-owned Mexican restaurant shuttered one location and several chain restaurants shuttered one or more locations.

Here's a look at the metro Phoenix restaurants and brewery that closed recently.
