These metro Phoenix restaurants, bakeries and wine bars closed in June — one after 70 years

While June saw a wave of new restaurant and bar openings, it also marked the end of the road for both longtime and newly opened restaurants and bars around the Valley.

A popular sandwich shop closed after more than three decades, a family-owned Mexican restaurant shuttered after 70 years and a few relative newcomers, from bagel shops to wine bars, closed their doors. A few have plans to reopen, some have relocated and will continue to serve in new locations, while others said goodbye forever.

Here's a look at all of the metro Phoenix restaurants, bars and bakeries that closed recently.

Aftermarket

According to an Instagram announcement, Aftermarket is closing for the summer to "update our caffe program." Gallery will be by appointment only for photoshoots or rentals.

The same notice on the door had a section from the new owners, none other than Barter + Shake, the group behind UnderTow, Grey Hen and Platform 18. They will call it Drink More, Say Less.
