Music history has shown that there are several reasons why specific songs or albums never come out. Metro Boomin recently revealed that a power outage in his home made him lose three beats that were intended to be sent to Future.

“Just made 3 [fire] beats on my MPC 3000 and the power just went off at the crib,” the St. Louis super-producer wrote on Twitter Tuesday (Aug. 29). “I didn’t even get to record them in yet I’m finna go cry myself to sleep bye y’all,” he wrote with a crying emoji.

A Future fan account attempted to ease Metro’s emotions by writing “Ay at least it ain’t 3 Pluto songs #thankgod.” The Heroes & Villains artist replied, “The beats were for Pluto ni**a!!!.” Check out the exchange below.

Another fan replied to Metro Boomin’s tweet asking “Why would you give us this information” with a heartbreak emoji. Boomin replied “I just had to share my pain as a form of therapy” with sad face emojis. Needless to say, the Metro and Future joint project that has been teased for some months now is likely not finished.

He’s kept busy while fans wait for that project, releasing the Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse soundtrack back in June with features from Swae Lee, Lil Wayne, Offset, Coi Leray, JID, Lil Uzi Vert, and more. Prior to Uzi releasing Pink Tape at the end of June, Metro was able to lay claim to the last rap album to go No. 1 on the Billboard 200, which had many people concerned about the state of Hip-Hop.

Heroes And Villains was released in December 2022 and features John Legend, Chris Brown, Gunna, Young Thug, Don Toliver, and more. “Creepin’,” a modern reimagining of Mario Winans’ classic record “I Don’t Wanna Know” featuring The Weeknd and 21 Savage, was especially popular and later received a remix featuring Diddy himself.
