Metro Boomin claims his X/Twitter account was hacked right after he released We Don’t Trust You.

On Tuesday (April 2), he returned to the social media platform to clarify the situation. The St. Louis native asserted that he hasn’t had control of his account or phone number since he and Future dropped their latest project in March. Metro explained that the unknown figure was behind the flurry of “corny a** tweets.”

“Just got my phone # and accounts back today. Somebody hacked me the day the album dropped. Smh,” Metro Boomin typed. “And all those corny a** tweets all my day 1s know that’s nowhere in my character. All positivity always on my end. We blessed. It’s all love #WeDontTrustYou.”

The producer broke down what happened in the days the hacker took control of his phone and apps. Metro expressed that he was relentlessly contacted by someone in Toronto two days before his LP dropped. He then shared a screenshot of the hacker using his number to text his Chanel and Balenciaga representatives to try and receive products from them. Boomin also redirected his fans to a post he uploaded on Mar. 28, instructing people to ignore any texts or calls they may receive from him.

Boomin then explained that he wasn’t responsible for any negativity that sprouted up on his page. He asserted that he would never beef with 21 Savage and that he doesn’t need drama to elevate his stature in the game.

“#1 album #1 song It’s nothing like me to focus and attempt to thrive off negativity vs these blessings while I’m living through one of the biggest moments of my career thus far. I let a lot slide but slander on my name and character I can’t do,” he typed. “What I look like subbing savage and we were on the phone for an hour 2 days ago. Y’all shoulda known something was up then, but negativity and bad news travels faster and further than anything else.”

The “corny tweets” Metro referred to arrived on Monday (April 1). A hacker, allegedly operating as the artist, sent out a xweet addressing rappers “scared” to support his album publicly. “I see a lot of ni**as been scared to post the album too,” the hacker seemingly typed. “#IForgiveButIDontForget #WEDONTTRUSTYOU.” A message proclaiming that he was in his #VillianEra soon followed. The posts have since been deleted, as Metro scrubbed all the “negative” posts from his socials. All of the posts except one very clear message.

“Once you pick a side stay there..#WEDONTTRUSTYOU
