Method Man’s Love for Lacrosse Inspired This New Sportswear Collab

Before Method Man became a hip-hop legend and scored hit after hit on the charts, the Grammy winner and actor spent his days on Long Island scoring goals on the lacrosse field.
“I played [Lacrosse] from grade school to junior high, then I moved back to Staten Island,” the rapper tells Rolling Stone about first discovering a love for the sport.
Years later, Method Man is debuting a new apparel and accessories capsule collection with the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) and Champion, which launches on Nov. 2, 2022. The new line of clothing features multiple pieces that lacrosse players and fans of Method Man alike can buy online, including logo crewneck tees, athletic shorts, stylish hoodies, and caps.
Method Man x PLL Hoodie
The Hempstead Hoodie, for instance, celebrates the rapper’s days playing lacrosse as a Hempstead Tiger on Long Island, though this version features the words “Hempstead Lacrosse” and the PLL logo in the center. The sweatshirt features a comfortable double layer hood, plus a knotted drawstring closure and metal grommets. It has a double-needle construction that’s a mix of cotton and polyester that provide just the amount of weight and warmth you’d want to wear, whether you’re on the field or commuting.
“Hopefully [the collection] gets more kids to explore the sport,” Method Man says. “There are different avenues we can go through besides basketball, football and baseball. And lacrosse is so f–ing cool because you can do all of those things, but you get a stick in your hand too. I mean what’s better than that?”

Along with the newest apparel and accessories launch, Method Man, the Premier Lacrosse League, and Champion say they plan to donate gear to 10 different lacrosse nonprofits “as part of a five-year plan to increase diversity on the field and make the sport more accessible.”

The new line marks the latest collaboration between PLL and Method Man, who launched a collection of merch back in 2020, in addition to the PLL anthem” Boom.”
This also isn’t the first time that Champion has released items for sports fans to collect. In fact, the brand has its own “fanwear” section, complete with apparel and gear to show off your team’s pride. But this is the brand’s only available collab with the PLL and Method Man.
The Method Man x PLL by Champion capsule collection drops on Wednesday, Nov. 2, and you can exclusively pick up the apparel and accessories exclusively on the Premier Lacrosse League website — while it lasts. Pricing starts at $40 for T-shirts and hats to $75 for hoodies.
Once the styles are sold out, you can find similar (not lacrosse-branded) pieces on the Champion website.
