Meteorologist Daji Aswad lands in Houston after leaving Milwaukee's WISN-TV (Channel 12)
Daji Aswad, who joined Milwaukee's WISN-TV (Channel 12) as weekend meteorologist in September 2020, has gone back to her hometown of Houston.
Aswad disclosed her new gig as a weekend evening meteorologist and science reporter on social media Tuesday night, after her new station, KPRC-TV, posted a get-to-know article about her on its website.

Aswad's last day at Hearst Television-owned Channel 12 was Sept. 27. Before joining the Milwaukee ABC affiliate, she was a meteorologist for AccuWeather.
Aswad's exit is the latest meteorologist departure from a Milwaukee TV station. In April, Marisa Woloszyn, who joined WTMJ-TV (Channel 4) in 2021, announced she was leaving the station for a meteorologist job in her hometown, Detroit.
It's not just Milwaukee. In July, a television industry recruiting firm CEO wrote for the Radio Television Digital News Association that 2023 could be known in the industry as "the year of the weather openings," as demand for weather information continues to increase and more meteorologists leave TV for other fields.
