Josh Radnor and his wife Dr. Jordana Jacobs' first meeting was anything but ordinary.

The How I Met Your Mother star, 49, told The New York Times that he first encountered Jacobs, 36, while attending a three-day sound meditation retreat in upstate New York in February 2022. As part of the meditation, the group of about 30 attendees ingested a psychedelic mushroom mixture before lying on the floor while wearing eye masks and listening to singing bowls and chimes.

Radnor recalled to the outlet that a voice in his head prompted him, "That's her. That's your woman."

Jacobs, meanwhile, was having an inner dialogue of her own. The clinical psychologist asked her heart, "What do you have to tell me?" according to The New York Times.

She got an immediate — and surprising — response: "You know that man over there across the room, Josh? You’re drawn to him.”

The pair had briefly met one another the previous day as the retreat was kicking off. Both had decided to attend the event to help themselves heal and move on from recent breakups.

Jacobs explained to the outlet that experiences like the meditation retreat "have been very powerful for me in understanding who I am," so she made the trip upstate from her home in Brooklyn.

She and Radnor ended up chatting together for half an hour the night they met. “We just fell into a really easy, fun kind of getting-to-know-you session,” the actor said.

Their conversation topics ranged from love and death to his songwriting work — he was recording the album Eulogy with friends at the time — and even the connection they felt between each other.

“I thought she was formidable," Radnor recalled of Jacobs, who was equally smitten with him.

After their psychedelic experience, Jacobs worked up the courage to tell Radnor, “I had this experience in ceremony of listening to my heart, and my heart is drawn to you," she told The New York Times.

Radnor said he wasn't quite ready to talk to her about their mutual connection in the moment but texted her within minutes of leaving the retreat. After a month of exchanging messages and voice memos, they met up for dinner in New York City.

“We had a really beautiful and intense and powerful first date where we went very deep,” Jacobs said.

Not long after, he made the move from Los Angeles to Brooklyn to be closer to Jacobs. They got engaged in Joshua Tree, California — after first doing a meditation together.

They tied the knot on Jan. 6 at the Cedar Lakes Estate in Port Jervis, New York. In a nod to that momentous meditation experience when their hearts first connected, the couple planned their wedding weekend to reflect the retreat "setting."

A dinner on the eve of their wedding day featured centerpieces with decorative mushrooms. The next morning, guests took part in a yoga session and a sound meditation (this time, drugless).

Radnor and Jacobs exchanged vows outside at dusk as snow fell around them amid a winter storm sweeping through the area.

As the Hunters star prepared to say "I do," he told his wife, “I know that my not having gotten married until now was not due to some brokenness in me. The truth is, I didn’t get married until now because I was waiting for you.”

Radnor shared photos from the snowy wedding on Instagram on Friday as he announced his happy news to his fans.

"I got married! Two weeks ago. In a *light* blizzard. It was an incredible overwhelming snowy bliss-filled weekend," he wrote in the post's caption, adding of Jacobs, "I can’t believe my great good fortune that I get to call this extraordinary woman my wife."
