International soccer sensation Lionel Messi dined at a Cincinnati staple after Inter Miami CF's Wednesday victory over FC Cincinnati in the U.S. Open Cup semifinal.

Before leaving for Harrison, New Jersey, for Inter Miami's Saturday night matchup against the New York Red Bulls, Messi and the team had their "culinary sendoff" Thursday at Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse, Ruby said in a post on Twitter, now called X.

Messi is an Argentine professional soccer player. The all-time leading goal scorer for Argentina and Barcelona, Messi holds numerous awards, including two for the Best FIFA Men’s Player.

The 36-year-old forward is team captain for Inter Miami CF of Major League Soccer. He also plays for Argentina's national team. Messi spent the majority of his career playing for La Liga's Barcelona, which he left in 2021.

Messi joined Inter Miami CF earlier this year, agreeing to a deal worth up to $150 million over two-and-a-half years, plus additional funds from MLS partners, according to Sportico. He is expected to make between $50 million and $60 million per year with the club.

Inter Miami is scheduled to play against the New York Red Bulls at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The game can be streamed on Apple TV.
