Meryl Streep & Martin Short’s Latest Date Night Is Sparking Rumors All Over Again

While Meryl Streep and Martin Short are both legendary actors and co-stars in Only Murders in the Building, fans have not quieted down on the rumors that their friendship might’ve turned romantic. Most recently, another outing from the pair has brought up the dating rumors all over again.

On Saturday, Streep and Short attended a Broadway showing of Merrily We Roll Along, per Page Six. In addition to being photographed together at the theatre, the actors went on to meet the cast and crew of the show backstage.

“Wonderful! You were wonderful,” Streep said in an Instagram video posted by one of the show’s stars Krystal Joy Brown. “What a show. What a show. It must be a joy, I hope it is. That was … wow.”

Brown also gushed about what it felt like to be appreciated by such acting legends. “I think I can safely speak for the entire cast and company by saying that performing for Meryl Streep and Martin Short is a dream come true!” she wrote alongside a photo of the three of them. “They were so kind and effusive meeting us after and I am beyond grateful to capture this special moment with these two legendary icons and our wonderful company that deserves all the love & shine! ✨”

And while a Broadway date seems like something any couple in NYC would do, Streep denied their romance not too long ago. “We’re not a couple, we are just very close friends,” the Oscar winner said on a January podcast episode of Club Random with Bill Maher.

With one more date night on the books, we’re not sure how much we believe her anymore!
