Meryl Streep Just Had the Best Fashionably-Late Entrance to the Grammys — See the Hilarious Moment

Meryl Streep proved that she knows how to make an entrance when she arrived fashionably late to the 2024 Grammy Awards and walked right into Trevor Noah’s opening monologue. See the hilarious moment below.

Noah was on hosting duties as stars attended the music industry’s biggest night at the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles. As the show kicked off, Noah began his opening monologue from the crowd, interacting with nominees and attendees, including Streep’s son-in-law Mark Ronson.

As Noah pointed out that Streep, 74, would be sitting next to Ronson and her daughter, Grace Gummer, the Oscar winner was seen swiftly rushing to her seat after arriving fashionably late to the show. “You thought I was lying! You don’t have to apologize to me, [Meryl],” Noah told Streep as she embraced him.

Streep is in with a chance of stepping closer to EGOT status after being nominated for Best Audio Book, Narration and Storytelling Recording for Big Tree. The star has already landed Emmys and several Oscars but doesn’t have a Tony Award. But this isn’t the first time the star has been nominated for a Grammy either.

She has previously been nominated for six other Grammy Awards, including Best Compilation Soundtrack for a Motion Picture for Mama Mia! in 2009 and Best Spoken World Album for Charlotte’s Web in 2021.

But it was also a big night for Streep’s extended family with son-in-law Ronson adding to his other seven Grammys. Ronson has been married to Streep daughter since 2021 and welcomed a daughter in March 2023.

The famed producer was nominated in several categories for his contribution to the Barbie soundtrack with songs “I’m Just Ken” and Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night Away.” Ronson and the other creators of the album won for Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media.
