Meryl Streep Botched Her Thanksgiving Dinner But One Celebrity Came To Her Rescue

Being a celebrity isn't always about having staff prepare and cook holiday meals—especially around Thanksgiving. Some celebrities, like Meryl Streep prefer to cook their own meals.

Meryl Streep and Gwyneth Paltrow prefer to do their own cooking, at least for Thanksgiving.

She describes her 'Thanksgiving Disaster' in a YouTube video.

"I had a Thanksgiving disaster because my oven didn't work...I hate my oven I hate it!"Streep said on Live With Kelly and Michael.

This proves that celebrities are more down to earth than we think. And sometimes when they cook, things don’t always go exactly as planned!

When celebrities tend to burn things, drop items, and completely mess up when they are preparing their favorite meals. If this happens, naturally, they turn to their closest friends for the help that they need in order to rectify the situation.

Streep emailed her for permission to enter the apartment and use Paltrow's kitchen to finish preparing her dinner.

Streep was able to pull things off without a hitch. Talk about coming to your friend's aid just in time for Thanksgiving!

Gwenyth has always been known to eat healthy. Paltrow, always the healthy eater has posted some of her holiday favorites on Goop, her lifestyle website, and fans have absolutely loved them. She certainly doesn’t sacrifice healthy eating for flavor.

Streep also said when she stopped by to chat on "Live With Kelly and Michael, “You never hate your oven more than on Thanksgiving Day when it won’t cook the turkey,” Streep said, estimating over 11 hours of cooking time at her recent Thanksgiving dinner — and the bird still wasn’t done."

She continued, "So I went over and I did all the sides in her oven," she said. "And my brother was in charge of the turkey that would not cook."

Meryl Streep's Thanksgiving Rescued

Thanks to her friend, Gwenyth Paltrow, she rescued Meryl from a potential kitchen disaster. That's what friends are for, right?

Both are neighbors in New York City.The "Into The Woods" actress gushed about Gwenyth's oven.

"She has the best oven I have ever seen in my life!" Meryl revealed. "I did all the sides in her oven and my brother was in charge of the turkey that would not cook. The sides were fantastic."

"[My daughters] are all equally bad," Meryl said. "They had to draw lots for who went with me, but it's a beautiful beautiful place with the best oven I have ever seen in my life."
