'Mere Mortals': Six comedies, one night at Mishawaka's The Acting Ensemble

MISHAWAKA — “Mere Mortals” opens Jan. 19 and continues through Jan. 28 at The Acting Ensemble, 602 E. Mishawaka Ave.

Written by David Ives, “Mere Mortals” features six short comedies that combine satire, wit, hilarity and intellect.

• A battle of the sexes on a miniature golf course

• The fantasy lives of three construction workers on a girder 50 stories high

• A pair of mayflies on a pond who seize the day — their only day

• A crash-course on the complete works of David Mamet

• A vaudevillian visit to the doctor

• An unemployed and depressed New Yorker who decides to become Edgar Degas for a day.

Auditions: Be part of two radio shows in one with Elkhart Civic Theatre's 'KECT on the Air' in April

Directed by Tiemen Godwaldt and starring Mariah Donley, Andrea Hutslar, Brad Mazick, Ken McCoy, Shane Miller and Sarah Myers.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 19-21 and 25-27 and at 2 p.m. Jan. 28.

Tickets are $19-$16; Jan. 25 is pay what you can.
