The film, from writer and director Steven Richter, also features Iman Karram in a supporting role.

“Anatomy of the Sun” follows Alex (Pilon), a music producer who is haunted by visions of his dead sister as he tries to understand the details of her untimely demise. Suvari plays his mother Carol, who is also in the throes of grief.

Casting is underway for the role of Alex’s step-father Hector. Alexis Allen is overseeing casting for the project, which is in pre-production and scheduled to start shooting in the fall.

Richter’s 2011 feature “Center of Gravity” was nominated as Raindance’s Film of the Festival.

“I think of ‘Anatomy of the Sun’ as an immersive visual and sonic narrative experience that blurs reality and the natural dreamscapes of the mind,” said Richter. “These two worlds merge as a parabola of a double life that, existing within the imagination, is more real than we could suspect. Music is an integral part of the language. Alex, an electronic music producer, embarks on a journey through his memories, unraveling enigmatic clues—both visual and sonic—that weave together in a symphonic narrative, resembling the structure of a musical composition.”

The film is produced by 222 Pictures together with U.K. production house Candid Broads. Sean Patrick Burke produces for 222 Pictures and Oriane Pick for Candid Broads. Executive producers are Alexis Allen and 222’s Tiffany Burke.

“‘Anatomy of the Sun’ is an incredible script. We are excited about partnering with Flavia Rocha and Steven Richter on this amazing project! Candid Broads Productions solidifies the team and we are eager to make a compelling film with them,” said Sean Patrick Burke.

Concourse Media is representing the film.
