From Graceland to the Gremlins.

Here are some of the highlights.

Highlights of the intervening weeks will include the holiday light displays at the Elvis estate; Elvis-themed Christmas concerts Dec. 1 and 2 at Graceland Soundstage; and the opening of the new gift shop and gallery devoted to the collectible Christmas villages created by the Department 56 company.

Christmas at The Peabody

Nov. 24-Dec. 31, Memphis Zoo

The "South's Grand Hotel" hosts one of the city's most glamorous Christmas trees in its historic lobby, a floor-to-ceiling wonder so loaded with ornaments that even a wayward Peabody duck might not find a place to roost. The tree-lighting ceremony is set for 5 p.m. Nov. 24.

Memphis Holiday Parade on Beale Street

2 p.m. Dec. 9, Beale Street Entertainment District

Beale Street Management calls this "the grandest holiday parade in the region," and who could argue? The parade through the historic entertainment district sometimes designated "the birthplace of the blues" will feature marching bands, steppers, twirlers and "all sorts of sights," including, of course, the figure that Memphis rockabilly artist Cordell Jackson called a "red-dressed daddy-O," i.e., Santa Claus.

First up is "Anna and the Apocalypse," a 2017 British musical in which high school students find their Christmas break party plans postponed by the zombie apocalypse. The second movie is Alex de la Iglesia's horror-comedy "Day of the Beast" (1995), in which a priest and a headbanger team up to thwart the Christmas Eve birth of the Antichrist.
