Memorable Moments From Past Years at the Scripps National Spelling Bee

The 90th annual Scripps National Spelling Bee starts on Wednesday, May 31. It features 291 kids competing for a $40,000 first-place cash prize. Among the children is 6-year-old Edith Fuller, the youngest participant ever.

Contestants are narrowed down from around 11 million kids from the United States, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Department of Defense schools in Europe
