Melissa Joan Hart Answers Our Burning Questions About Sabrina the Teenage Witch's Series Finale, 20 Years Later

Monday marks exactly two decades since Melissa Joan Hart wrapped her seven-season run as Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and we still have big feelings about how it all went down. (Not to mention a No Doubt earworm we’ll never get out of our heads.)

Much has transpired over the past 20 years, so we’ll set the scene for those in need of a refresher: The date is Friday, April 24, 2003, and Sabrina Spellman is ready to say “I do” in a two-part series finale event on The WB, where the former TGIF staple is finishing out its final three seasons after relocating from ABC.

Only she isn’t quite ready. Upon returning from a disastrous bachelorette trip with bridesmaids Morgan (Elisa Donovan) and Roxie (Soleil Moon Frye), Sabrina develops literal cold feet, casting doubt on her impending wedding to Aaron (Dylan Neal), which is now mere hours away.

Sabrina spends most of the finale trying to convince herself to go through with it, but when her and Aaron’s soul stones refuse to click together, the truth becomes impossible to deny. The plot thickens when Sabrina’s cousin Amanda (Emily Hart) makes up for all of her past misdeeds in one fell swoop by retrieving the soul stone of Sabrina’s ex-boyfriend Harvey (Nate Richert), which proves a perfect match.

The finale ends with Sabrina leaving poor, handsome Aaron at the altar and riding off into the sunset on the back of Harvey’s motorcycle as No Doubt’s “Running” plays them out. On the surface, “Soul Mates” is a perfectly satisfying conclusion to Sabrina’s story, but we’d be lying if we said the episode doesn’t leave us with plenty of questions.
