Melbourne Toy and Comic Con hosts celebrity roster, draws crowd

The Melbourne Toy and Comic Con, presented by Melbourne's Famous Faces and Funnies in conjunction with Mike's Comics in Orlando, was held April 14 at the Melbourne Auditorium. The colorful event featured more than 60 vendors, popular comic book artists, cosplayers, contests, panels and several Hollywood guests.

The event has shifted from a single annual event to a twice-a-year production, with the next Melbourne Toy and Comic Con schedule for Sunday, Oct. 13.

The guest list

If you missed the event, here are a few of the celebrity actors and comic writers and colorists who were on hand over the weekend.

Kevin Foster: Foster is a longtime stunt performer who has worked on several Marvel movies and streaming shows. Most recently he played Freddy Fazbear in "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie streaming on the Peacock app. He's also made appearances in "Jay and Silent Bob: The Reboot" and Marvel's "Iron Man."

Brooklynn Prince: One of the biggest up-and-coming names in Hollywood, child star Prince saw critical acclaim as the lead actress in "The Florida Project" last year. She's also appeared in feature films like "The Turning" and "Cocaine Bear." Price is currently focusing on writing for her comic "Misfortune's Eyes"

Rochelle Davis: Davis is probably best known for her role as Sarah in the 1994 movie "The Crow," which hits a 30-year anniversary in 2024.

Billy Tucci: Founding Crusade Comics and launch the brand's flagship title, "Shi," in the early 1990s, it goes without saying that Tucci has had a long career in the world of comics. In 2006, Tucci began penciling for Marvel Comics' "Heroes for Hire" and DC Comics' "VS" cards. He later worked on DC's "Jonah Hex," "Birds of Prey," "Flash vs. Superman" and "Harley Quinn."

Nelson Ortega: Ortega is somewhat of a local legend, having drawn for Sonic, Street Sharks and Spider-Man among others.

Peter Smith and Elle Mangin: Smith has worked for some of the larges entertainment companies in the world, including Walt Disney animiation at Disney/MGM Studios and Marvel Comics. He and Manging, his assistant and colorist, have produced several variant covers for companies like Dynamite and IDW.
