Melanie Griffith Shares Inside Look at Mom Tippi Hedren’s 94th Birthday Celebrations — See the Photos!

Tippi Hedren still knows how to party!

The retired actress turned 94 on Friday, and her daughter, Melanie Griffith, shared a behind-the-scenes look at her bash on Instagram the following day.

To commemorate her special day, Griffith, 66, shared two photos of her mom, including a sweet photo of her rocking bold pink lipstick and another slightly sillier snap.

In the festive shot, Hedren posed with a fork full of cake as she sported colorful, sprinkle-covered party glasses that read “CAKE TIME!”

"Yesterday Mom aka MorMor turned 94!!” Griffith captioned the post. “Always up for a party! 🎉 💫✨💃🏼 Happy Birthday Mama ♥️ Tippi.”

Ahead of Hedren’s 94th birthday, the Alfred Hitchcock muse chatted exclusively with PEOPLE about her plans to celebrate the special day with her family by her side.

"It may not be exciting to the rest of the world, but as a mother and grandmother, it's the perfect way to celebrate," she told PEOPLE.

Hedren shares Griffith with ex-husband Peter Griffith, and is grandmother to Griffith's four children: sons Jesse Johnson and Alexander Bauer and daughters Dakota Johnson and Stella Banderas.

Throughout the years, The Birds actress and Working Girl star have maintained a close mother-daughter relationship.

When Griffith was awarded the timeless beauty award at the Hollywood Beauty Awards in 2016, she dedicated the honor to Hedren with a sweet tribute.

"Really, I would like to say that this should be for my mom, who’s right there,” Griffith told the audience. “She is the timeless beauty. So mom, I’m going to take this on your behalf. I love you.”

In November 2016, Hedren, Griffith and Griffith’s daughter, Fifty Shades of Grey star Johnson, 34, all chatted in honor of Hedren’s self-titled memoir, Tippi.

“The three generations just made me think about Mom, born in 1930, and me, in the ’50s, and Dakota, in the ’80s,” Griffith said at time. “The progression of life is really beautiful.”
