Melania Trump's Christmas Wishes To The Military Gets Met With Backlash On Social Media

First Lady Melania Trump addressed a crowd of military service men and women and their family's on Saturday night before her husband, President Donald Trump, made some remarks.

The First Lady posted a video clip of her speech to her Twitter account, and not surprisingly it was met with some backlash from users.

"On behalf of my family, I want to thank every member of our military and their families for their devotion to our country, and their courage to defend our freedoms," she said during her speech.

"During this holiday season, we send our prayers to all who are serving overseas, and who will not be home with their families over Christmas. Our nation is with you, and thanks you for all the sacrifices you make to keep us safe. Wishing you all a very merry Christmas, and a happy and healthy New Year," she continued.

Some people used Trump's post as a reason to go after her and the President.

"If there had been any heart in her reading I might have accepted it. But the reading is as cold as the White House Christmas trees," one person replied.

"Not bad from her who s husband was scared to go into the services," someone else wrote.

"Want to make their holiday great? Tell your husband to live up to his promise of bringing them home from those senseless wars as he calls them!!" a third commented.

Of course, with American politics being so polarized, there were plenty of people who appreciated Trump.

"Thank you our First Lady for honoring our military they and you and our President are greatly appreciated. God bless you and Merry Christmas," someone wrote.

"I appreciate this so much this year with my son overseas. I thank God that he is under this great POTUS and FLOTUS administration! God Bless our Troops and may they all return home safely!" another said.

Earlier this week, the House of Representatives impeached President Trump on two articles. Those will be sent to the Senate for a trial after the holiday recesses to determine if he will be removed from office or not.
