Melania Trump Speaks Out After Joke About Her Son

The current First Family is under constant scrutiny on a daily basis thanks to the current dude in the White House, Donald Trump. Every day he reminds us of the challenges we encounter having a former reality television star in the highest office of our nation, as memes continuously pop up and world leaders whisper inaudibly as our country implodes with division. And one thing's for sure, the ongoing impeachment hearings surrounding Trump certainly aren't doing anything to boost American morale.

Impeachment: Where to Watch

According to CNN the hearings are bringing all kinds of folks out of the woodwork to point the finger at Trump for all of his dirty dealings. However, sometimes innocent folks get caught in the crossfire. And one of those people is now Trump's youngest son Barron. True, the impeachment hearings are bringing out the worst possible characteristics from everyone involved. However the comments made about Barron may be the one thing that actually turns his mother Melania's switch from Neutral into Overdrive. And she has some choice words for Stanford law professor Pamela Karlan.

During today's hearing, Karlan was asked to compare the fears of the framers of the US Constitution — who worried that a monarchy could prevail in the US — to President Trump's behavior. She said that "kings could do no wrong, because the king's word was law." But in the US, "contrary to what President Trump has said, Article II does not give him the power to do anything he wants." That's when she brought up Barron Trump as a specific example: "The Constitution says there can be no titles of nobility. So while the President can name his son Barron, he can't make him a baron."

Upset by the comments, Melania Trump immediately lambasted Karlan's joke in an attempt to keep her son out of his father's infamous impeachment hearings.

First lady Melania Trump said Pamela Karlan should "be ashamed" after the law professor brought up Barron Trump at today's impeachment hearing. "A minor child deserves privacy and should be kept out of politics," she tweeted. This is her first public comment of any kind about the impeachment inquiry.

Melania posted her entire thoughts on Twitter, something that her husband has been known to do excessively during his reign in office. And people were quick to call her out on her hypocrisy.

Another person coming to Barron Trump's aid is White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham who also tweeted her own thoughts on the situation.

Classless move by a Democratic “witness”. Prof Karlan uses a teenage boy who has nothing to do with this joke of a hearing (and deserves privacy) as a punchline. And what’s worse, it’s met by laughter in the hearing room. What is being done to this country is no laughing matter.

As tempting as it is to drag any member of Trump's inner circle into this fracas his youngest child should be left alone because he has nothing to do with any of this. And as we were taught by former First Lady Michelle Obama "When they go low, we go high". Let's never forget that.
