Melania Trump is staying out of the public eye in the wake of husband Donald Trump’s legal woes and his 2024 presidential campaign, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t making major moves behind the scenes. The former first lady has reportedly prioritized her personal finances in the wake of all of these changes in her husband’s business life.

Melania put her legal advisers to work and allegedly renegotiated her prenuptial agreement for the third time, according to Page Six sources. “Over the last year, Melania and her team have been quietly negotiating a new ‘post-nup’ agreement between herself and Donald Trump,” the insider shared. “Melania is most concerned about maintaining and increasing a substantial trust for their son, Barron,” the source added. And don’t worry, her legal team made sure she was taken care of as well. “I know that she wanted it to provide her with more money, and also — from what I understand — there’s a specific amount at minimum that Barron is supposed to obtain,” a second insider noted. Melania wants to make sure she and her 17-year-old son are protected, especially now that her husband, Donald Jr., Eric Trump, and the Trump Organization were found liable for business fraud in New York.

“Trump remains very rich, but with mounting legal bills and judgments,” the new agreement would “provide a more solid future” for both Melania and Barron. “It’s not that she threatened to leave him,” the first insider said. “It’s definitely the underlying idea.” In 2020, author Mary Jordan claimed in her book, The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump, that much of Melania’s delay in moving to the White House in 2017 was a part of the second prenup renegotiation. She’s proving to be a shrewd businesswoman when it comes to her marriage to Donald Trump, especially as he faces his major legal hurdles.
