‘Melania Trump’ Defends Her Husband on ‘The Late Show’ (Watch)

Stephen Colbert parodied Melania Trump’s interview with Anderson Cooper where she defended husband Donald Trump and blamed his lewd “Access Hollywood” comments on Billy Bush.

On Tuesday’s “Late Show,” the late night host first joked that Trump and Bush were on a bus because “it was easier it was easier to throw Billy underneath it,” and then brought in “Melania Trump” (actress Laura Benanti) via satellite and asked her why she hasn’t appeared since her plagiarized speech at the Republican National Convention.

“Yes that is my choice, they did not send me to live in an undisclosed location, I’m a private person Stephen, my life is not a photo opp,” she assured Colbert, staring off-camera at someone else in the room coaching her on what to say.

“Melania” went on to confirm that her husband had justified his lewd comments to her and dismissed them as harmless to his campaign because “women know it’s boy’s talk.”

“(Donald) explained it was “locker room talk.” I did not know this, but when American men gather to sport, they always brag of grabbing women by the Billy Bush,” she said. “Bad boys, bad boys, what you gonna do?”

She explained to Colbert that she has “more than forgiven” her husband’s comments, before he reminded of the numerous women who have come forward saying they were groped by Trump, as well as beauty pageant contests who said he walked in on them while they were naked.

“Those were all lies Stephen, except the ones where there is videotape, then it’s locker room talk,” Melania said.
