Megyn Kelly Mocks Joaquin Phoenix's Efforts To Reduce Waste By Reusing The Same Tux

The same Megyn Kelly who was fired from her daytime talk show last year for defending blackface is now mocking actor Joaquin Phoenix's efforts to reduce waste. Stylist Stella McCartney created the tux Phoenix wore to the Golden Globes last Sunday, and announced that he would be wearing that same tux all awards season in an effort to reduce global waste.

"This man is a winner… wearing custom Stella because he chooses to make choices for the future of the planet and all of its creatures. He has also chosen to wear this same Tux for the entire award season to reduce waste. I am proud and honoured to join forces with you Joaquin, keep inspiring and keep shining your light x Stella⁣," McCartney wrote in an Instagram post.

"Joaquin Phoenix wins Best Actor at the 77th Golden Globe awards, wearing a custom #StellaMenswear Tuxedo," the post continued.

While it seems like a worthwhile cause and a fine example to set for others, Kelly didn't like Phoenix using his celebrity to raise awareness for this issue.

Fox News' Janice Dean tweeted, "My husband and his co-workers wear the same firefighter outfit when they go into burning buildings to try to save people. But yeah, good for you Joaquin and Stella."

Kelly then retweeted that, adding, "Well said @JaniceDean. How out of touch are these ppl?? Oh the sacrifice! Just ONE tuxedo! Spare us."

As with everything right now, this was a very polarizing issue. PETA commented, "This is SO amazing! He is a true winner in the hearts of animals AND humans. His dedication to creating a kinder future for all is inspiring EVERYONE to make compassionate changes. Thank you for creating a #vegan suit that will shine all award season."

"I would love to know how much Megyn donated to Environmental causes from her multi-million payout from fox & NBC.... How many dresses were worn multiple times on your shows..... Phoenix is a vegan & involved in many Enve charities but yah he & all of us can always do more," someone else commented.

"I’m glad that at least 2 TV personalities are willing to speak out!. Thank you Janice for speaking out. My husband also wears the same uniform every day. That would be a police uniform. They are so out of touch," another anti-recycling fan wrote.
