Meghan McCain tells Joy Behar the one thing the audience does on 'The View' that bugs her

Meghan McCain may come across as a tough cookie on "The View," but there's at least one thing that gets to her.

"Entertainment Tonight" had McCain and Joy Behar interview each other in honor of the talk show's 5,000th episode Thursday, and McCain revealed that she doesn't like getting booed by the audience.

"This is a very hard job," McCain told Behar when she asked what the hardest part of the job was. "I think because you and I are so emotionally invested in the topics, I get very upset or happy. It's like, lots of intense emotions on this show and part of it is the political climate we're in and part of it's just the nature of the show, getting booed is very hard."

Despite how often Behar and McCain butt heads on "The View," the two are actually very fond of each other. The latter noted that she gets emotional when people say the two don't like each other.

"It really hurts my feelings," McCain said. "It genuinely hurts my feelings because our dressing rooms are next door to each other, and you and I have the same emotional reaction to things, sometimes in different ways, but we're both upset equally, the equal amount of the same things. And I wish people would give us a break, for real."

McCain noted that she appreciates the relationship she has with Behar and enjoys debating with her.

"I don't know what my takeaway is, but when you're not here, I hate the show," McCain said. "I really have a hard time. As everyone knows, I have a really hard time when I can't fight with you, I really enjoy it. I really enjoy being friends with you. You're really funny, you always make me laugh on the show. I'm really, sincerely very grateful that you're on the show with me, and you have all the answers."
