While many were critical of his "DWTS" casting, Meghan McCain defended President Donald Trump's former press secretary Wednesday, calling Spicer a "decent man" trying to support his family.
"If he was dancing at a wedding, we'd all be impressed," McCain said on "The View" as co-host Whoopi Goldberg laughed. "Like, if he was at a wedding or a Bar Mitzvah, you'd be like, 'That guy can move.'"
McCain and Spicer used to work together at Fox News, so the 34-year-old host "knows him pretty well."
"He has children who are adopted, he's a really decent man, he used to dress up like the Easter bunny at the Easter egg roll," McCain said. "He's got a really good heart ... He used to be really well-respected ... Why I'm not mad at this is because he's got kids to put through college, he's got to pay his bills one way or the other and if you've got to dance in a lime green shirt entertaining me when I have nothing else to do at night, then I'm not that mad at it."

Co-host Sunny Hostin said she had a hard time getting past Spicer's past "repeatedly lying to the American people" as Trump's spokesman to be able to enjoy his new gig.
"I don't want to see him with the lime green shirt," she said. "I don't want to see it. I have no interest in it."

"He looks like he's having fun, so kudos to him. Enjoy your life. But life after Trump is hard," Abby Huntsman added. "It's a reality show presidency ... but then where do you go after that? I don't know that you're ever back to the place you were before Trump. I think he would like to be taken seriously."
"This is not the way to do it," Behar quipped.
