The Duchess of Sussex has supported Prince Harry on the polo scene since 2017

Meghan Markle is Prince Harry’s biggest supporter on the polo field, and she always makes a fashion statement.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, kicked off the spring season by supporting her husband at the Royal Salute Polo Challenge in Wellington, Florida on April 12, inspiring a look back at her sideline style through the years.

Meghan has been a constant presence at Harry’s polo matches since before their major public debut as a couple at Invictus Games in 2017 — calling for a dive into the style files.

April 2024

The Duchess of Sussex continued her polo chic streak at the Royal Salute Polo Challenge at Grand Champions Polo Club in Wellington, Florida, on April 12. Meghan wore Heidi Merrick's ivory "Ginger" midi dress with high halter neckline, center cutout and sweeping tie back to the equestrian event benefitting Sentebale, the charity Prince Harry co-founded in 2006 to help young people in Africa affected by poverty, inequality and HIV/AIDS.

She completed the look with Heidi Merrick's oversize "Santa Barbara" sunglasses, white crossbody Valentino bag and beige heels, her hair swept into a low ponytail.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived holding hands, and posed for photos with Nacho Figueras and Delfina Blaquier. Harry and Figueras are longtime pals through the world of polo and will saddle up for the Royal Salute Polo Challenge, while Blaquier has said she and Meghan bonded around supporting their husbands in the sport.

June 2022

Meghan defined California cool in a light blue denim shirt tucked into a pair of darker denim shorts at one of Prince Harry's games with the Los Padres team at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club in June 2022. The Duke of Sussex competed with the polo team after he and Meghan relocated to her home state in 2020.

She completed the look with three essential warm-weather accessories — sunglasses, brown leather sandals and a hair clip to pull her layers back.

May 2022

The Duchess of Sussex and her friend and former Suits costar Abigail Spencer wore complementary black and white polka dot ensembles at Prince Harry's polo match at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club in May 2022.

Meghan brought the glam in a black patterned polka dot blouse with white shorts, topped off with a black wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, red lipstick and black heels — which drew comparisons to Julia Roberts' iconic Pretty Woman look! She also slipped on a sentimental accessory: one of her go-to initial necklaces featuring an "A" for their son, Prince Archie.

July 2019

Meghan aced breezy summer style at the King Power Royal Charity Polo Day in Workingham, England, in July 2019, which doubled as Prince Archie's debut at one of his dad Prince Harry's matches! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex became parents when their son was born in May 2019 and would later welcome their daughter, Princess Lilibet, in June 2021.

Meghan looked chic in a khaki green V-neck linen midi dress by Lisa Marie Fernandez at the Royal Charity Polo Day and kept the sun out of her eyes with rectangular aviators.

The outing was memorable as Prince Archie's first public playdate with cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, who accompanied their mom Kate Middleton as their dad Prince William competed in the match with Prince Harry.

July 2018

Meghan made her debut as a Duchess at Prince Harry's Sentebale ISPS Handa Polo Cup at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club in Windsor, England. The equestrian event in July 2018 fell just two months after their royal wedding.

There, the newlywed effused elegance in a midi-length denim dress by Carolina Herrera, finished with cat-eye sunglasses, a straw clutch and beige pumps by Aquazzura, one of her go-to shoe brands. Perhaps to beat the heat, she twisted her hair back in a bun.

May 2017

Go, Harry! Meghan cheered for her future husband at the Audi Polo Challenge at Coworth Park Polo Club in Ascot, England, in May 2017. Prince Harry hit the pitch to support charities Sentebale and WellChild, and Meghan watched proudly from the sidelines.

The then-Suits star dressed up in a sleeveless navy Antonia Berardi dress with an asymmetrical hem and a white Aritzia blazer over her shoulders, plus sunglasses.

The appearance was significant as the first time that Prince Harry and Meghan attended a public event together, even if they were separated by the playing field!
