Meghan Markle's Dad Is The Worst
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have a lot going on right now and don't need any added stress. Stepping down from the royal family, they're both in a transitional period, which can be difficult, especially with a newborn child.
Unfortunately, Markle's estranged father can't seem to mind his business. From too many interviews with the press to undermining her privacy, Thomas Markle is making it harder than necessary. He keeps reaching for a lost connection to his daughter without worrying about consequences.
He Thinks She Owes Him Money
Thomas Markle claimed to press that Meghan Markle only gave him modest cash gifts during her success on "Suits". He said he felt disappointed after paying for her private school fees, university tuition, and school loans.
These are costs that all parents incur with a child and were probably mostly part of his child support agreement after divorce. Paying for things he's supposed to pay for doesn't automatically make him a good father. Nor should a child owe a parent anything.
Testifying Against Her
Meghan Markle is currently suing "The Mail on Sunday" for misuse of private infringement of copyright and breach of the Data Protection Act 2018. The information? A letter she sent to Thomas Markle which he ended up selling to the tabloid.
Soon, he plans to be a key witness against her, testifying that he had a right to publish the letter and tell his story.
Right of press or not, it looks like Thomas Markle is milking Meghan Markle's influence for all he can get.
Talks Too Much To Press
Thomas Markle has a compulsion to speak to press any chance they offer cash. Even before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's wedding, he sold pictures of himself getting his suit fit. The day before the wedding, the royal family released a statement saying Thomas Markle was sick and would not participate.
Later, he revealed to the press he was fine and chose not to walk her down the aisle because he felt silly. He then continued selling his time to several tabloid publications.
Hasn't Seen Her Since Before The Wedding
Meghan Markle has not seen her father since before the wedding, and it's probably because he's been taking advantage of her.
Emotionally abusive parents will often guilt their children for all they've sacrificed. But news flash, children don't ask to be born, and paying for their necessities is doing the bare minimum.
If Meghan Markle is distancing herself from Thomas Markle, it's because he continues to use her name for personal gain. Although she has publicly described his best and most positive aspects, and obviously loves him, his toxic traits might destroy their relationship forever.
