Queen Elizabeth's childhood friend is speaking her truth about Meghan Markle -- and it's safe to say she is not a fan.

The 91-year-old Lady Glenconner, who was friends with Queen Elizabeth back in the day, believes that Meghan Markle was not ready for the royal life.

She even claims that Markle thought being part of the Royal Family was all "glitz and glamour", when, in fact, it is quite boring.

Lady Glenconner was one of Queen Elizabeth's maids of honor at her coronation in 1953, so the two were very close. Now, the 91-year-old is claiming the Duchess of Sussex was not ready to be part of the Royal Family and that she "feels sorry" for Prince Harry.

Meghan Markle thought she would be “riding around in a golden coach” and treated like a movie star, according to Lady Glenconner, who spoke out on the “Rosebud with Gyles Brandreth” podcast. She went on to say, “I think the thing about Meghan was, she had no idea what was expected of her really.”

“I think she just thought it was sort of like being another actress, you know," she added.

Glenconner, who also acted as the lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth’s sister Princess Margaret, admitted that being part of the Royal Family can actually be quite boring as most of their days are spent “meeting hundreds of thousands of people that you’re never going to meet again” all while pretending to be happy.

In regard to Prince Harry's and Meghan Markle's decision to leave the Royal Family, the 91-year-old admitted, “I think it was very sad and I feel very sad for Harry."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted hand-in-hand last week while enjoying a romantic island getaway together.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry walked along the cobblestone sidewalks of the beautiful island, as they were holding hands, looking completely in love with one another. The two took a jet to the tiny island of Canouan in St Vincent and the Grenadines after the couple spent a week in New York promoting mental health projects.

The 42-year-old was seen strolling down the street wearing an ivory maxi dress, a white Panama hat with a black ribbon, and a pair of sandals.

Amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle broke their silence, joining other members of the British royal family speaking out on the terrorism and unfolding crisis in Israel.

“At The Archewell Foundation, with Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, we stand against all acts of terrorism and brutality,” the statement, which was posted to their foundation page, read. “We are supporting our partners and organizations on the frontlines in Israel to provide the urgent aid needed, and to help all innocent victims of this unconscionable level of human suffering.”

Meghan and Harry’s statement came just hours after King Charles released a statement of his own. “This is a situation His Majesty is extremely concerned about, and he has asked to be kept actively updated,” a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said. “His thoughts and prayers are with all of those suffering, particularly those who have lost loved ones, but also those actively involved as we speak.”

The spokesperson added, “His Majesty is appalled by and condemns the barbaric acts of terrorism in Israel.”
