After Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s multi-million dollar deal with Spotify came to an end, critics were lining up to criticize the couple. And although their other major partner, Netflix, stood up for them against the noise, sources close to Markle and Harry indicated that the Sussexes were “ready to come back stronger” after all the drama.

Luckily for them, new reports show that the couple might be on the brink of some great news. According to sources for the Mirror, Markle is on the verge of signing with Audible, Amazon’s podcast and audiobook company.

“Word of mouth is spreading that it will lead to a huge payout – even bigger than the millions Spotify splashed out,” the source shared. As a reminder, the Spotify deal cost the music streaming giant a reported total of $18 million.

Most of all, the Duchess of Sussex is thrilled to be potentially joining their long list of star-studded partners. “Meghan is thrilled that she’ll be in the company of Michelle and Barack Obama,” the source shared. The Obamas signed a multi-year and multi-project contract with Audible in 2022.

As for how Markle is feeling, reports say she’s beyond “thrilled” to be at the negotiating table after her recent losses. “Meghan seems very confident at the moment but the reality is that she’s been in a pretty desperate spot,” she source added. “Losing the Spotify deal was a massive blow [for her], not to mention her ego. She’s been pretty lost since but this deal could turn everything around.”

“Meghan knows her new deal with Audible could be make or break for her Hollywood dream,” the source continued. “She feels ready but that doesn’t mean this isn’t seriously daunting. She hardly sleeps thanks to the pressure of it all, but knows that the pressure will only get worse is she lands the deal – it will be make or break.”

According to the source, the “make or break” mindset is coming from the fear that being dropped from companies twice “would be the end of their brand.” “Nobody would trust they could delver the content,” the source explained. “The [stakes] are extremely high.”

Although we don’t think this deal would be necessarily all or nothing, after all her former series Suits has recently been all the rage on Netflix recently, we understand how delicate things are for the Sussexes right now. After all, it seems like no matter what they do, they’re always bombarded with critics. Fingers crossed this deal works out for them!
