Meghan Markle Is The Queen Of Style

Since her lavish, fairy tale wedding to Prince Harry (still jealous!) Meghan Markle, now the Duchess of Sussex has been embroiled in some major controversy and has been criticized for just about everything. However, one thing many can agree on, the girl knows how to dress!

While many like to compare her to her sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge, Meghan has never tried to copy Kate and most of the time she doesn't even follow royal protocol when it comes to her outfits.

California Cool Vibes

While she has frequently taken inspiration from her character "Rachel," who she played in Suits before marrying into the royal family, she brings a distinct, laid back feel to her outfits.

She wears a very basic color palette of white, beige, black, and dark blue. She keeps things simple with pencil skirts, loose button-downs, and classic tailoring.

The first time she went out with Prince Harry in a public capacity, she wore what most women would wear: a pair of skinny jeans, flats, and a loose white button-down, showing off her California roots.

Bloggers Love Her

Her every outfit is scrutinized, and a whole world of bloggers have made it a full time job to figure out where every piece of Meghan's clothing can be bought.

Katie Sturino, who runs the blog The 12ish Style, has re-created a number of Meghan's outfits for plus-size women on her Instagram.

Meghan's Mirror, another popular blog, keeps up with all of Meghan's most recent outfits, telling readers where they can buy each piece. It's safe to say fans are obsessed with her every look.

2019's Most Influential Dresser

Not only is she an accomplished actress, the Duchess of Sussex, and the woman who snagged one of the world's most eligible bachelors, she has now been crowned (pardon the pun) 2019's most influential dresser by Lyst Index.

Hello Magazine writes, "The annual fashion report analyses data collected throughout the year and reveals the biggest trends and fashion stars. The wife of Prince Harry has topped the list - each time she has worn something, it revealed a whopping 216 percent increase in searches for similar items."

She Beat Out A Lot Of Other Contenders

While she only made number three on the list last year, she clearly decided that just wasn't good enough, and being the over-achiever that she is, Meghan took the number one spot in 2019.

She's the only member of the royal family to feature in the top ten, with her also very fashionable sister-in-law Kate Middleton coming in at number 11 on the list. She also beat out other fashionable people, including Kylie Jenner. That's a lot of pressure; will Meghan top the list in 2020 as well?

A Press Release From Lyst

In a press release from Lyst, the company said, "This year 104 million shoppers started their fashion search on Lyst. We analysed the data; crunching the queries, page views and sales metrics across six million fashion products from over 12,000 online stores, alongside the global media coverage and social media mentions generated by the year's biggest brands and trends. From streetwear to spider brooches, Timothée Chalamet to Tevas, here's what was trending in 2019."

They continued, "The 10 celebrities whose personal style choices drove the biggest spikes in searches, sales, news, coverage and social media mentions over the last 12 months."

Congrats, Meghan, for topping the list!
