Think back to roughly five-and-a-half years ago. Millions of people were waking up in the early morning hours to watch the royal event of 2018: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. After all this time, we still remember certain details of the ceremony we loved. But there was one element we just uncovered that adds even more significance to that day — a subtle, moving tribute to Princess Diana.

While all eyes were on the Duchess of Sussex on her wedding day, there was one element Meghan held in her hands that may have gone unmentioned. Meghan’s dainty bouquet held a lot more significance than we initially thought, according to a report from The Mirror. Included in the bouquet was Princess Diana’s favorite flower, and Harry and Meghan made sure the blooms were part of Meghan’s flower arrangement.

“The spring blooms include forget-me-nots, which were Diana, Princess of Wales’s favorite flower,” a statement from Kensington Palace said, per the outlet. “The couple specifically chose them to be included in Ms. Markle’s bouquet to honor the memory of the late Princess on this special day.” We really loved this nod to Princess Diana.
