Meghan Markle & Kate Middleton Allegedly Never Got Along & a Source Claims There’s One Big Reason Why

By now, we all know that the Sussexes are on dire terms with the Prince and Princess of Wales. And while Prince Harry and Prince William‘s fading connection is a shame to royal fans (they are brothers after all!), Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle‘s place in the feud has always been a point of confusion. Did Markle and Middleton ever get along? Why didn’t they stand up for each other during it all?

And though we know all about their biggest disagreement, the infamous bridesmaid dress debacle, leading up to Markle and Harry’s wedding in 2018, new sources are shining a light of why the two royals never got along that much to begin with.

According to a source on Telegraph, Markle had a preconceived idea of Middleton even before tying the knot with Harry. “I think there was always a sense that Meghan felt she was a self-made woman whereas Kate hadn’t really had her own career,” the source revealed.

The source then specifically talked about the rare “Fab Four” outing at the Royal Foundation Forum in Feb. 2018. Per the source, Markle took charge at the event and was open about many of the causes she believes in, including the #MeToo movement – something which was not a part of the royal docket.

“She seemed to feel like she had more of a right to speak than her sister-in-law, who had married into the family as an unknown whereas Meghan regarded herself as a philanthropist who could teach the royals a thing or two about charity,” the source said of Markle’s approach. “I think she found it difficult that the Royal Foundation was already a well oiled machine by the time she got there.”

In addition, it seems like their initial disconnection even continued as the wedding loomed near. In fact, when Markle’s mom Doria Ragland traveled to the U.K. for wedding preparations, Markle refused to introduce her to the Waleses despite, per the source, them “repeatedly asking to meet her.”

“It was all very bizarre,” one source revealed of their animosity. “Meghan seemed to want to put a separation between them.”

Overall, it seems like Markle and Middleton, because of their own individual reservations, were never close to begin with. Therefore, we’re guessing their feud didn’t feel like that much a leap. From cold to icy!
