Meghan Markle subtly switched something about her signature style at the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025's One Year to Go celebrations: her eyebrows!

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, debuted a new beauty look in British Columbia, Canada, last week, where she and Prince Harry commenced the countdown to next year’s Invictus Games. Meghan’s eyebrows appeared to be fuller than ever and framed her face. While the Duchess of Sussex had bold brows during her first public event of the year, a surprise appearance at the premiere of Bob Marley: One Love in Jamaica in January, her bold Invictus Games brows might signal that she’s sticking to the trend.

In November 2023, Meghan stepped out with sparser eyebrows at Variety's Power of Women event in Los Angeles, where she hit the red carpet with her hair swept back in a bun. The evening celebrated the publication's Power of Women honorees, who each get their own Variety cover. The Duchess of Sussex was honored in 2022 and told reporters she was "proud" to be in attendance to offer her support.

Like most people, Meghan has switched up her eyebrow style through the years. She had slimmer brows while starring on Suits, which originally aired on USA Network from 2011 to 2019, and didn’t deviate much during her royal wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018.

Before the big day, the bride-to-be visited eyebrow stylist Sherrille Riley at Riley’s Mayfair salon Nails And Brows, where she got her brows tinted, threaded and tweezed.

“They must be on point to balance the features and frame the face on the big day,” Riley told PEOPLE at the time.

The Duchess of Sussex seemed to embrace the thicker brow trend around the summer of 2022, when she and Prince Harry traveled to the U.K. for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee festivities celebrating her record 70-year reign. She seemed to keep the style in her beauty routine from there, and had bold brows when she took stage as the keynote speaker for the One Young World Summit that September.

Bold brows weren’t the only update to Meghan’s glam routine at the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 One Year to Go countdown. On Monday, celebrity hair colorist Kadi Lee posted photos of Meghan at the Whistler Sliding Center on Feb. 15 with rare insight into her hair hue.

“Chocolate chestnut brunette, for Meghan, Duchess of Sussex for Invictus Games,” Lee wrote on Instagram. “This mixture of red and golden undertones makes a dynamic shade of brunette that not only gives skin the healthiest glow, especially during the colder months of winter, it also provides the hair with a next level high power shine.”

In a PEOPLE exclusive, Prince Harry and Meghan opened up about their "meaningful" visit to Canada for the official countdown to the 2025 Invictus Games.

“We loved being back in Canada, a place so meaningful to both of us. It was an honor to be welcomed by the Four Host First Nations, as we marked One Year To Go, together with Invictus coaches, competitors and families,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said following the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025’s One Year to Go festivities last week.

“It filled our hearts to once again be surrounded by Canadian people, food and culture. We felt the Invictus spirit and excitement throughout Whistler and Vancouver, and are so grateful to all our hosts for organizing such a memorable visit. We’re counting down the days until we return!” they add, along with an exclusive new photo from the One Year to Go Dinner at the Vancouver Convention Centre last Friday.
