The champion athlete opened up about her clothing line, revealing that the Duchess of Sussex is an inspiration for the brand to be of the “highest quality.”
“It’s so fun because people are like, ‘Oh my God. Like wow, the quality is crazy,’ ” Williams told Business of Fashion. “Listen, if we’re giving our stuff to Meghan, it has to be the highest quality that we can get. So, that’s what I tell our team internally: ‘We have to make sure it’s super high quality that, you know, is fit for a royal princess!’ “
During a trip to Dubbo, Australia, in October to visit farming families affected by the area’s two-year-long drought, Meghan wore a plaid oversized blazer from her good friend Williams’ namesake line. The “boss blazer” has gone on to become a best-seller.
It didn’t take long for Williams to show her excitement for Meghan’s support.
In an interview with PEOPLE last year, Williams opened up about her new line. “This collection is inspired by femininity and strength,” Williams told PEOPLE. “It’s bringing those two together. Who said you can’t be both?”
The collection features pieces with words such as “royal,” “be greater” and “slay” embroidered throughout. On the brand’s Instagram, they showed support of Meghan wearing the blazer and encouraged all their customers to “be the ROYAL that YOU are” by shopping the Royal-themed collection.
As Meghan, 37, prepares to welcome her first child with Prince Harry any day now, Williams also chatted with Business of Fashion about what it took to ensure that her friend’s baby shower back in February was everything she hoped for and more.
“Planning something like that takes a lot of effort,” Williams, 37, told the publication of hosting the New York bash. “I’m a perfectionist, so I’m like, ‘Let’s make it perfect.’ “
“It’s been a lot the last few days,” Williams, who sat down with the Business of Fashion just after the shower.

Most recently, Williams, who has a 19-month-old daughter Alexis Olympia, made sure that Meghan was ready for motherhood by sending her diapers across the pond — though she didn’t think the Duchess of Sussex would need much help as a new parent.
“She’ll be the best mom, for sure,” the athlete told E! News earlier this month.
