Meghan Markle’s Drastic Weight Loss Cause Revealed

Meghan Markle has been under a lot of pressure over the past few years, and it's finally showing. The Duchess of Sussex has been losing weight significantly recently, which insiders say is a race to "out-skinny" Kate Middleton. 

However, Meghan's loved ones have expressed worry that she's "not taking care of herself" and might be breaking down. In August, the former actress was spotted with an anti-stress patch while Prince Harry was on a trip.

Meghan Markle has been gaining attention for her significant weight loss recently. Sources spoke to InTouch and revealed that the Duchess of Sussex is in competition with Princess Kate for the skinnier body. 

They said, "A lot of people think it's part of her twisted competition with Kate, who's also emaciated."

Meghan and Kate have reportedly been on bad terms for several years, dating to their flower girl spat shortly before Meghan's wedding in 2018. Since she and Prince Harry stepped down from their senior Royal positions in 2020, the bad blood has only worsened.

Regarding Meghan's significant weight loss, an insider claimed that Harry begs his wife to place her health first and eat more food regularly. 

The insider added, "But anytime it's brought up, she blames her weight loss on stress and changes the subject. When Harry invites her to eat, she'll have some sort of health tea, and that's it."

She's Allegedly 'Not Taking Care Of Herself'

One source revealed to the news outlet that Meghan's loved ones are concerned about her and her health. They said, "Something's seriously wrong. She's obviously not taking care of herself and is looking scary skinny."

A nutrition expert, Dr. Fred Pescatore, spoke to InTouch about the Duchess's weight loss and estimated that Meghan has lost about 20 pounds over the last year. The source also blamed the weight loss on Meghan's heavily booked schedule and the recent business troubles that have hit her and Harry.

These troubles allegedly include the termination of the couple's $20 million Spotify deal and the Emmy snub of their Netflix series "Harry & Meghan." 

The couple also lost multiple projects with Netflix, and rumors quickly spread that they were facing serious financial troubles. An insider said, "Meghan is cracking under all the pressure, and it shows." 

The Duchess has been open about how pressure affects her, including the severe depressive episodes she had after her wedding to Harry and during her first pregnancy with son Archie. She opened up about being suicidal and seeking professional help to regain herself.

Meghan Markle Was Spotted With An Anti-stress Patch

Meghan has never shied away from being open about her struggles with stress and depression. The former "Suits" actress was once spotted wearing an anti-stress patch while on a stroll in Montecito, California. At the time, Harry was on a work trip to Asia, so Meghan was left alone with work and their two kids.

Meghan accessorized her chic outfit with the dark blue NuCalm biosignal processing disc, which is a calming device. According to the NuCalm website, the patch "activates the parasympathetic nervous system" so that its user can have a "rapid return to a functional state (motor skills, attention, and full cognition) with no lingering effects or mental lethargy."

Meghan and Harry have also approached other methods of stress relief, including a recent couples vacation. The Duke and Duchess were spotted on a private trip to the island of Canouan in St Vincent and the Grenadines after a busy week promoting their mental health projects.

An onlooker shared pictures of the couple with the DailyMail and said Harry and Meghan were "affectionate" with each other. They said, "They looked happy. As Harry walked out of the shop, he slightly bumped into one of the barrels [outside] and they both giggled and Meghan reached for his hand."

The onlooker further commented that the couple "looked very happy to be having a holiday together." After they were done shopping, Harry and Meghan strolled along the beautiful promenade and then boarded a luxury tender yacht to explore another part of the tiny island.
