Meghan Markle rang in her 42nd birthday without any pomp and circumstance from Buckingham Palace.

The “Suits” star’s birthday on Friday resulted in zero public acknowledgments from the royal family, though a rep for the monarchy claims it was unrelated to the multiple ways in which the Sussexes have aired the royals’ dirty laundry over the past year.

The royal family doesn’t publicly commemorate every trip around the sun for every family member, a representative told TMZ, though it was not immediately clear if the palace privately contacted Markle in honor of the special day.

Despite the representative’s claim, Prince William and Kate last year took to Twitter to send birthday wishes to Markle, who reportedly celebrated with friends this year by going to see “Barbie.” The Duke of Sussex, 38, is said to have sat the movie out.

Next month marks the first anniversary of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, though the loss of the U.K.’s longest-reigning monarch wasn’t the only hit to the royal family this past year.

Netflix’s “Harry & Meghan” docuseries hit the streamer late last year, putting on display not just the origins of the the couple’s relationship but what led to their departure from their positions as senior royals.

But nothing could have prepared the palace nor the rest of the world for the revelations that would be made public via Harry’s controversial memoir, “Spare,” which hit shelves in January.

The (mostly) tell-all includes graphic details about the prince’s sex life, the argument with Markle that pushed him back into therapy, and fights with older brother William.
