Joe Biden and Jill Biden added a surprise stop on Monday while heading back to Washington, D.C.: the wedding of nephew Cuffe Owens to Real Housewives alum Meghan O'Toole King!

The president and the first lady, who had been in Delaware for the weekend, attended the "small, family wedding" at Owens' parents' home in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, according to the White House.

The Bidens will return to D.C. on Monday afternoon.

"Our wedding was about two things for us," King told Brides magazine. "Our love for and commitment to each other, and our family — each of our families, and the new very large and very tight family that we were bonding together by getting married. That's it."

Not only did the couple marry at his childhood home but they will now share an anniversary with his parents, the couple told the bridal magazine.

Owens, 42, is a Los Angeles-based attorney and the son of the president's sister and close adviser, Valerie Owens, and her husband, Jack.

According to the couple, Valerie played a key role in planning her son's wedding, alongside Cuffe's sisters Missy and Casey.

"[They] handled those duties remarkably. And Valerie's best friend, Bernadette Buccini, was our secret weapon," the couple tells Brides. "Having it planned by and for our family, with our complete and total trust, probably couldn't reflect more who we are as a couple."

The president's nephew has mostly stayed away from the spotlight since before his uncle and aunt entered the White House earlier this year.

But King, who appeared on three seasons of The Real Housewives of Orange County, is no stranger to it.

"We connected on a dating app, texted for a day or two, then spent five straight hours on the phone the first time we spoke," King tells Brides of her whirlwind romance with her husband. "By the time that call ended, Cuffe was booked and packed for a flight to St. Louis that took off in about eight hours. Within a week, we were back on the East Coast, meeting his family, and starting to plan our future together. We didn't leave each other's side for weeks."

The couple went public with their relationship just weeks ago, when King, 37, posted photos of the pair together on Instagram and called Owens "my man" in the caption.

King had been dating friend Will Roos this year — as she finalized her divorce from retired baseball star Jim Edmonds two years after they separated — and was previously in a relationship with Christian Schauf.

She and Edmonds share daughter Aspen, 4½, and twin sons Hart and Hayes, both 3.

"We told the kids they could walk down the aisle with me if they wanted to and Aspen said she wanted 'to throw flowers at me' so it was decided she would be the flower girl!" King also says.

Owens and King's celebration isn't the only Biden family wedding in the works. The first lady's granddaughter Naomi Biden recently announced her engagement to Peter Neal.

When asked if Naomi and Neal's wedding would take place at the White House, the first lady said she and the president haven't been asked to host yet.
