Meghan King has dropped two orders of protection against her ex-husband, Jim Edmonds.

The two orders of protection — one granted against Edmonds which was previously reported by PEOPLE and a child protective order that was requested but not granted — have been dismissed by King's attorney, PEOPLE can confirm. A consent order has also been entered into their previously concluded divorce case.

"As I continue to heal I've become enlightened and more aware of what I've been through and how to handle it. Let's just say I'll remain protected and safe with a binding document not accessible to the public," King exclusively tells PEOPLE.

Edmonds' rep Steve Honig also shared an exclusive statement to PEOPLE on his client's behalf following the dismissal.

"Jim is looking forward to putting all this nonsense behind him as he begins his new life with Kortnie and continues to focus on the needs of his children," the statement read, referring to Edmond's fiancée Kortnie O'Connor. ""There was no threat, which is why Meghan did not need any orders of protection."

In June, the former Real Housewives of Orange County star, 37, obtained a temporary restraining order against Edmonds, 52, in St. Louis County, Missouri, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE earlier this month. It was later granted for continuance.

The order indicated that King allegedly "had to endure frequent and consistent verbal abuse" from her former spouse. She claimed the verbal abuse occurred in person, over text message, through Edmonds' attorney and on the Family Wizard parenting app. This was all "contrary to the terms of the parenting plan regarding conduct towards the other party, especially in the presence of minor children," per the documents.

The documents also alleged that Edmonds believed "his 'celebrity' status in this city" could allow him to "ignore previous court orders, the parenting plan and the parent coordinator, without consequence," and that he "shielded" the situation "by sealed files and private hearings."

Honig shared a statement with PEOPLE on his client's behalf at the time, saying, "This request for an order of protection is completely baseless and furthermore makes an absolute mockery of the pain suffered by the millions of women in this country who are legitimate victims of abuse.""

King and Edmonds split in October 2019 after five years of marriage, though their divorce wasn't finalized until May 2021.

The exes have endured a rocky road since calling it quits. King previously accused Edmonds of having an affair, but he vehemently denied the matter. They've also encountered issues co-parenting their 5-year-old daughter Aspen and their 4-year-old twin sons Hart and Hayes.

After her marriage to Edmonds, King went on to marry President Joe Biden's nephew Cuffe Biden Owens in October 2021. The pair split two months later.

Edmonds proposed to O'Connor in August 2021 after going public with their relationship in April 2020.
