Megan Thee Stallion has been a loud and proud anime fan throughout her career, much to the pleasure of fellow anime heads or those in the entertainment community who simply like seeing her look good. She created another crossover moment for all when she sported cosplay outfits at the 2024 Crunchyroll Awards this past weekend.

The 29-year-old rapper traveled to Tokyo to be the presenter for the Anime Of The Year award, which went to Jujutsu Kaisen, and dressed up as Satoru Gojo, one of its characters, in tribute. She wore a platinum blonde waist-long wig, a Black leather zip-up crop top, Black leather pants, and covered her eyes with a Black blindfold.

Meg wasn’t done there, though. She reimagined herself as Bruno Bucciarati from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure in the outfit she wore on stage to present the award, wearing a short bob wig and white open-chest dress with gold accents. In true “Hot Girl” fashion, she dubbed herself the “Bucciarati Hottie” in the caption of her Instagram post showing off the outfit.

Megan Thee Stallion spoke with the media before the award show and told them that her favorite genre of anime is action. “As soon as the anime come on, I wanna see the city getting torn up,” she said. “Like, the city needs to be destroyed on the first go. I need to understand why you’re mad, what is the character development story, what are we going through, take me on that ride with you.”

She certainly tore up the internet, and has been a hot topic over the last few months musically, as well. Her latest single “Hiss” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early February, and continued her ongoing beef with Nicki Minaj.

The three-time Grammy winner mentioned “Megan’s Law” in the track, which is a federal policy requiring authorities to make information available to the public regarding registered sex offenders in their vicinity. Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, is a registered sex offender, so it was easy for fans to connect the dots upon learning what “Megan’s Law” meant.

“Hiss” prompted Nicki Minaj to go on a tirade and release her response record “Big Foot.” She made light of Megan Thee Stallion getting shot by Tory Lanez and her mother’s death, accused her of sleeping with her late mother’s partner, and made allusions to several of her rumored romantic relationships in the entertainment industry.
