Megan Thee Stallion Releases Statement Saying She “Suffered Gunshot Wounds” This Past Weekend

Megan Thee Stallion has shared a statement after reports circulated that she was at the scene of Tory Lanez’s arrest on a felony gun charge in Hollywood Hills on Sunday, July 12. “On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me,” she wrote on Instagram today. “I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets.” She noted that she is “incredibly grateful to be alive and expected to make a full recovery.” Read the full statement below.

According to TMZ, Megan Thee Stallion and another woman were present at the time of Tory Lanez’s arrest. Police had reportedly responded to a “disturbance” call outside of a Hollywood Hills home around 4:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they reportedly saw people arguing in an SUV before gun shots were fired and the car drove away.

TMZ’s report also stated that Meg was taken to a hospital to get treatment for “a cut on her foot believed to be from broken glass on the floor of the vehicle.”

Update (07/17 6:40 p.m. ET): Megan Thee Stallion has shared a new statement regarding last weekend’s incident on Twitter. “Black women are so unprotected & we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o considering our own,” she tweeted earlier tonight. “It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized.” Find her full post below.
