Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé have fans on high alert. It’s been confirmed by Global Citizen that the Traumazine rapper will not be performing at the festival on Sept. 23, “due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict.”

After the festival confirmed the likes of Lauryn Hill and D-Nice among this year’s performers, they responded to a fan who asked directly about Megan’s previous involvement.

“Hi there — due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, Megan Thee Stallion will no longer be available to perform at the 2023 Global Citizen Festival,” read the tweet shared on Sunday (Sept. 10). The first of Beyoncé’s two Houston stops for the Renaissance World Tour will take place on the 23rd, leading fans to believe that Thee Stallion will be joining Queen Bey as a special guest for her highly-anticipated hometown set.

Prior to Bey’s birthday weekend in Los Angeles, the tour didn’t have any opening or surprise guests. The first of the three-night run at L.A.’s SoFi Stadium featured a DJ Khaled and friends set with appearances by Coi Leray, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Roddy Ricch, Offset, Doechii, and more.

On her actual birthday, Diana Ross performed “Love Hangover” before serenading the mother of three with a birthday song. Kendrick Lamar and Bey also gifted fans with a live performance of their “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM” remix, technical difficulties aside.

“Thank you to the incomparable Ms. Diana Ross. The 1 of 1, the number 1, the only one. Thank you from the depths of me, my Queen,” wrote the 42-year-old in a touching reflection on Instagram. K. Dot also got shouted out when Bey shared, “Thank you again to the legend Kendrick Lamar for blessing the Renaissance World Tour. I deeply appreciate you. What an incredible experience. Respect.”

Regarding the potential “Savage (Remix)” live set, one fan tweeted, “I’ve BEEN saying this HAS to happen. No way they wouldn’t both give H-Town what they deserve.” Another pointed out that Kelly Rowland also pulled out of a performance that weekend, further teasing a rumored Destiny’s Child reunion.
